Quick answer: SSIP accreditation costs the scheme's membership fee, which varies by scheme and business size, plus any support fee if you'd like help. PQS publishes fees from £99 +VAT. WSG's standalone support for CHAS Standard, SMAS Worksafe, SafeContractor or Constructionline Bronze starts at £395 +VAT. SafeGuard Pro includes PQS accreditation at SSIP level with the membership fee paid.

Spend once, in the right place

The best-value SSIP route is the one your client accepts first time. Paying for a scheme your client doesn't recognise is money down the drain. Start by asking which scheme they use. If they just say "SSIP", any SSIP Registered Member scheme will do.

SSIP scheme fees

Each scheme sets its own fee and publishes it on its website:

We write what's missing, fill in your application, upload everything and submit it, and we deal with any questions from the scheme. We aim to submit within 2 to 3 working days of receiving what we need. If you aren't accredited, you get 100% of our fee back (terms apply).

Extra benefits when you apply through us:

  • CHAS: a free fast-track for new members. CHAS assesses your application in 2 working days instead of the usual 10.
  • SMAS: 30% off your first-year SMAS membership fee if you're new to SMAS.
  • SafeContractor: a £50 Amazon voucher and a fast-track application.

Add a second scheme for less: deem to satisfy

Already hold SSIP with one Registered Member? Deem to satisfy lets you use that certificate to meet another scheme's requirements without a full reassessment. It's often the lowest-cost way to add a second scheme a new client asks for.

SafeGuard Pro: SSIP sorted, paperwork and advice included

SafeGuard Pro (£1,895 +VAT a year, or £595 setup + £150 a month +VAT, 12-month minimum) includes:

  • PQS accreditation at SSIP level, with the membership fee paid
  • Support with any other SSIP scheme your clients ask for (that scheme's fee is paid separately)
  • Competent health and safety advice on call, and your paperwork produced for you
  • SafeGuard set up for you, so your documents stay in date

FAQs

What's the cheapest SSIP accreditation?

The best-value one is the scheme your client accepts. On scheme fees alone, PQS publishes fees from £99 +VAT. With SafeGuard Pro, the PQS membership fee is paid for you.

How much does SSIP cost for a sole trader?

Scheme fees are usually lowest for the smallest firms. Our standalone support for 1–4 employees starts at £395 +VAT. See Accreditation for sole traders.

Do I have to pay every year?

SSIP schemes run on annual memberships, so the scheme's fee applies each year you stay accredited.

Is SSIP accreditation the same price for every scheme?

Every scheme sets its own fees. Our standalone support is the same fixed price across CHAS Standard, SMAS Worksafe, SafeContractor and Constructionline Bronze.

Can one SSIP accreditation cover all my clients?

Often, yes. Many clients accept any SSIP scheme, and deem to satisfy helps when one insists on a specific scheme.
