The benefits of CHAS application support

CHAS, the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, is one of the most useful accreditations your company can have. Although not strictly a legal necessity, in practice, your CHAS accreditation can make all the difference when bidding for contracts.

That being said, the application process can be challenging and time-consuming. Not only are there several types of CHAS applications to decide between, but the work involved in filling out your application can be frustrating. Add to that the importance of making sure that your application is accurate and correct, and it becomes clear that CHAS application support is an easy way to save time and, ultimately, money. After all, while we're working on your application, you can be putting your time to better use.

Started your CHAS application and got stuck?

It happens a lot. You start the CHAS application, get part of the way through, then the work takes over and it sits there half-finished. Or the renewal comes round again and you dread it.

Send us what you've got. We pick it up where you left off, write anything that's missing, upload everything and submit it for you. Once we've got what we need from you, we aim to submit within 2 to 3 working days, and it's often sooner. If CHAS comes back with questions, we deal with them.

Customising your membership to your company

By working with us, you'll be able to take advantage of our expertise in making sure that your CHAS application matches the requirements of your company.

There are three levels of CHAS, and the CHAS membership fee can vary a lot depending on how many employees you have and which level you need:

  • CHAS Standard: the entry level. It's an SSIP accreditation. SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) is the group of recognised health and safety schemes, CHAS and SMAS among them, that accept each other's assessments. In plain words: the basic health and safety accreditation most main contractors ask for.
  • CHAS Advanced: SSIP plus PAS 91. Everything in Standard, plus PAS 91, the standard set of pre-qualification questions many clients use. It shows you're compliant in other key areas beyond health and safety, like environmental, quality and equality.
  • CHAS Elite: the top level. It meets CAS, the Common Assessment Standard: the standard public sector clients and many large main contractors ask for, covering 13 areas of risk management. You need it for public sector work. There's no site visit; it's all done from your documents.

Some companies simply want to appear on the CHAS register, making it easier for clients to find them, while others might wish to use it as a selling point and a token of legitimacy and high standards.

Working with us, we'll make sure you get the level your company needs without paying through the roof. Our CHAS application help is a fixed price, from £395 to £1,095 +VAT depending on your level and team size, and your CHAS membership fee is paid to CHAS on top.

FAQs

I've already started my CHAS application. Can you finish it?

Yes. Send us what you've got and we'll pick it up where you left off, write anything that's missing and submit it for you.

What if my CHAS application fails?

We've got a 100% success rate on all applications. If CHAS comes back with questions, we deal with them. And if your application doesn't get through, you get back the fee you paid us, as long as you've done your part (terms apply).

How long does a CHAS application take?

Once we've got what we need from you, we aim to submit your CHAS application within 2 to 3 working days, and it's often sooner. Then CHAS assesses it. That normally takes 10 working days, but if you're new to CHAS, our free fast-track means CHAS assesses it in 2 working days instead.

How much does CHAS application help cost?

There are two parts. Our CHAS application help costs £395 to £1,095 +VAT, depending on your level and team size (get your instant quote for your exact price). Your CHAS membership fee is separate: it's set by CHAS and you pay it to CHAS directly.

Rather we just did it for you?

Leave your number and one of the team will call you back about your CHAS application.
